Mountain Rains have caused big loss to agriculture sector in UC Swans
Farmers of UC Swans complain that mountains rains and flash flooding have destroyed their crops completely. It has cause big loss to agriculture sector. They are unable to cultivate their land again and there is no help yet from government and other organizations. DAO says, “We are doing survey of these areas, rehabilitation work will not start until survey is complete”.
Rainfall becomes beneficial for cotton, sugarcane and fodder
During an interview Deputy District officer Agriculture Tehsil Jatoi tells about the present condition of agriculture sector in his area. He says, “Rainfall has facilitated growth of cotton crop, sugarcane and Fodder (chara) for animals, rain water has fulfilled the requirement of urea for these crops. After rain moisture has occurred due to which pests are attacking these crops. He further tells about the proper usage of spray.

During an interview Dr. Faisal Bari National emergency coordinator FAO of UNO tells about the services of his organization in flood affected areas of Sindh. He explains, “A large number of families were given seed and fertilizer, medicine for their live stock and 10000 rupees. Shelter and vaccination facility was given to people and animals also. FAO has a contingency planning in case of possible flood”.
Interview of DCO Badin Kazim Jatoi over destruction in Badin after flash flooding
During an interview DCO of Badin tells that about 1.4 million people are affected due to flash flooding in Badin; it has caused damage to crops, livestock and education. There are health issues and food shortage. He says, “We have directed vet nary department for vaccination of animals, mobile teams are working for health on BHU level. For food shortage different organizations are helping. Work will increase in Badin as soon as the water level decreases”.
Flash Flooding has destroyed ready crops in Tando Mohammad Khan
Agriculture specialist Nabi bux Satiyo tells about the loss of agriculture sector in flood affected areas of Tando Mohammad khan. He says, “Due to flash flooding in Sindh along with other crops ready crops of sugarcane, cotton and rice have been destroyed and caused a big loss. Government should give seeds and fertilizer for cultivation of Rabbi crop, so that farmers can survive after the disaster”.
