Locals of Umer Kot are happy after getting facilities in ILTIWA Camp established by Saudi Arabia. They say, “They have given us food and kitchen set, soaps and everything else”. Assistant manager ALTAWA steel mills says, “We are taking care of health and hygiene, we have given them everything from match box to high quality food products like flour, rice, sugar, dry milk, tea bags, biscuits, peas etc”.

Locals of district Matyari complain that they are facing food shortage while living in affected private camp. Here people are crying for help. Whereas Officer Rehabilitation committee revenue department says, “We are supplying food relief aid in district only; on daily basis those areas where relief aid is not supplied yet will be supplied soon”.

While addressing to a press conference Chairman NDMA says, “We have supplied 1.6 million bags of food in affected areas of Sindh. Areas which are inaccessible through land, there relief aid is supplied through helicopters after every hour. NDMA will soon restore schools”. Whereas National Health Coordinator NDMA says, “Health kits are distributed including delivery kit, diarrhea disease kit and hygiene kit etc”.

People are crying over low eminence food supply in Tando Allah Yar

A large number of flood affected people living in a camp complain that the food supply in their camp is not enough and quality of food is low. They say, “Half portion of the flour was husk”. Whereas camp in charge says, “Food aid is distributed among people in timely manner, flour was grinded on emergency basis in flour mill therefore it is not so fine but it doesn’t have husk in it”.

Residents of Mund Jabro district Sanghar complain that although they are getting food relief from NGO’s but this food is not enough to feed them all. An official of Labour Education Foundation says, “They are distributing relief aid among people and within next two days more food items will be distributed in Talukas of district Sanghar”. He also said that his organization will keep helping people unless they are fully restored in their villages.
