Rain affected are homeless in district Matyari
Rain affected people of village Panj Moro district Matyari complain that they are living along roadside on national highway near Saeedababd . People say, “We don’t have food, water, tents and other facilities”. There is no relief aid yet given to these people. Regarding this District Officer Matyari says, “We are conducting survey and affected will be given tents soon”.
An interview with “UNHCR” spokesman regarding provision of tents and food relief
In an interview UNHCR spokesman tells about services of UNHCR rain affected areas. UNHCR is working on the provision of shelter and food relief for rain affected people in sindh. He says, “We have supplied 10000 tents and 10000 NFI Kits, our mandate is to support and help refugees. UNHCR is trying to reach every flood affected area in sindh”.
Rain affected are deprived of shelter in Thari Mir wah district Khairpur
After heavy rains in Sindh rain affected of Thari Mir wah complain that, they are forced to live along road side due to lack of tents. A welfare organization “WADO” and “IOM” are distributing tents among people in flood affected areas of Sindh. Chairman of “WADO” says, “Rains have caused massive loss therefore more tents are needed because people need shelter for their families to stay”.
An Interview with district Manager “IOM” regarding provision of tents
In an interview District Manager” IOM” says, “After survey of affected areas of sindh we have found that 1.5 million people need shelter. We have distributed tents among 30, 000 families. Along with tents IOM has distributed kitchen sets, water containers, blankets and NFI kits. This year less relief aid will be provided; unless donors don’t support us we cannot support people”.
People are facilitated in “ILTIWA Camp” in Umer Kot
Locals of Umer Kot are happy after getting facilities in ILTIWA Camp established by Saudi Arabia. They say, “They have given us food and kitchen set, soaps and everything else”. Assistant manager ALTAWA steel mills says, “We are taking care of health and hygiene, we have given them everything from match box to high quality food products like flour, rice, sugar, dry milk, tea bags, biscuits, peas etc”.
